The International Conductors Guild (ICG) is pleased to announce its International Conference in the beautiful and music-filled city of Valencia, Spain. The conference will take place beginning with a networking social evening on Tuesday, January 10, and full conference sessions on Wednesday, January 11 – 13, 2023 in the Aula Magistral located in the amazing Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.  Conference breakout sessions will be held on the campus of the Berklee College of Music – Valencia

The ICG will partner with the staff and faculty of the Berklee College of Music – Valencia, and the more than 100 members of the Asociación Española De Directores De Orquesta (AESDO),an organization similar in scope to that of the ICG, and located in Valencia.

Passport photos can be purchased at CVS, Walgreens, and other retail stores. The above link will tell you what is required or you can ask your local Post office staff how they can be of help.

VISAS – US Citizens with an active US Passport do not need a visa for travel to Spain. If you plan to visit other countries, be sure to check the State Department for more information.

VACCINATIONS – Check the full information available via the CDC and the US Embassy and State Department HERE.

  The Conference program will include a beautiful Conductor Retrospective on the life and work of the leading Spanish conductor of the 20th Century, Maestro Jesus López-Cobos, conductor masterclass on conducting recitatives, arias, and Zarzuela with local musicians and artists, selected presentations from a Call for Conference Presentation Proposals including presentation of papers, sharing of new works previously performed by attending conductors, conversations with agents and artistic representatives, and much more.

 – Delegates to the conference will attend an open rehearsal and concert of the Orquesta de Valencia with Maestro Alexander Liebreich at the Palau de la Música. Liebreich is also Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra.
